The north wall of the Parish Centre has been shroud in scaffolding and a blue protective sheet for the past 4 weeks. Unseen by most users of the Centre and casual passers-by, Neil Coates and his men have been toiling away.
They have:- Removed the old mortar and replacing with new.
Painted the round window (high in the apex of the roof) and re-meshed to deter bird nesting in the roof space.
Repaired and repainted the cast iron gutter.
Today, Friday the 4th September 2015, the work is almost complete.
We can look forward to having our building back as we know it.
This has been another step to making sure that the Centre is here for many more years for the people of Penrith and visitors to use and enjoy.
The cost of this work is in the region of £14,500 and has been part funded out of the refurbishment fund and generous gifts.
The work continues.
